Abstract/Description
This karate demonstration took place at the Festival Betances, in Plaza Betances, the Villa Victoria complex, in the South End, Boston, Mass. The Festival Betances is a celebration of Puerto Rican and Latino arts and culture, the founding fathers of Villa Victoria, and the memory of Puerto Rican patriot Dr. Ramon Emeterio Betances. The festival is produced through the collaboration of Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción, Villa Victoria Center for the Arts, the residents of Villa Victoria, and La Alianza Hispana. It is the oldest Latino community arts festival in New England.
